Born on the beautiful island of Jamaica, Andrea Reid migrated to the United States with her family where Connecticut became her home. She is a Christian, published author and editor who is a proud graduate of Howard University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing. Andrea is also the founder of Proofreiding, Inc., a proofreading and editing boutique that offers editing services for nonfiction books, blogs, biographies, newsletters, marketing materials, proposals, website content and more.

Andrea is a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association where she co-chairs (with her cohort, Andy Huston) the Ad Hoc Committee on HBCU Scholarships. Together they established their “passion project” — the first EFA scholarship program geared toward students attending HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities). The organization awards two scholarships in the amount of $5000 (each) to an undergraduate student attending an accredited HBCU and to a HBCU graduate furthering their education at the graduate level. She is also on the EFA's Board of Governors-Member At Large and is currently the chairperson for the organization's Diversity, Equity and Belonging Committee.

As the proud author of the recently released book, “Treasured by God,” Andrea shares her personal relationship with God and how He speaks to her through dreams and visions. She wrote this book to encourage other (new) dreamers who also see forthcoming events while they sleep. An easy read, it is available on Amazon for $19.99 (paperback). She is currently working on her second book, a sequel to “Treasured by God” — the women’s edition.

Andrea is also co-host of the Leading Ladies Podcast, a platform used to empower women with thought-provoking content and interviews. The podcast allows guests to share their stories on topics ranging from mental health, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), domestic abuse and a host of other topics.

A recently ordained minister, Andrea believes it is essential to discover your purpose in life and work toward making it a reality. Her mantra is: Pursue your passion with a vengeance!
